Waste mgmt units for villages

Mandi, September 25
A target has been set to establish solid and water waste management units in all 473 panchayats of the district by 2019, said Rural Development Minister Anil Sharma, while launching the Swachh Panchayat Week and Rashtriya Swachhta Abhiyan under the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan here today.
He said in the first year, 50 panchayats of the distict would be selected for establishing waste management units. He said under Swachh Panchayat Week, several awareness programmes would be organised and vermin-compost units would be set up in every households for better management of the solid waste.
